Welcome to Class 7

Here you will find everything you need to know about our learning journey and some tips on what you can do to support your child’s learning at home. You will see all of the wonderful work we do through the pictures uploaded to the gallery. The children who come to the resource need extra support with their speech and language due to speech sounds disorders or Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).

We are proud to have taken part in DLD Awareness Day 2024. Some of our child shared their experiences with the whole school by leading an assembly.

As a whole school, we took  part in No Pens Day in November where we learned and reflected more about the importance of talking, listening and interacting. We also used this day as a fundraising opportunity to support the many children needing support with their speech and language.

In class 7, we give thought to the children’s speech targets when planning all areas of the curriculum and they will regularly focus on these throughout their learning. Children will have opportunities to integrate into their relevant main stream class, alongside small group learning, to ensure they get the full curriculum offer on top of their speech and language therapy. In class 7, the children will get small group and individual speech therapy with the speech and language therapists.
