PE Kit
When attending school all children should have a PE Kit which consists of:
Plain white T Shirt / polo shirt
Black Shorts
Trainers for outdoor games
For outdoor PE tracksuit bottoms and tops can be worn.
If the children represent the school in a sporting event, we will provide either a long sleeve football shirt or short sleeve polo shirt.
We will respect variations to our school uniform if they are directly related to established religious or cultural traditions. Any variation will be dealt with on an individual basis and judgements will remain at the discretion of the Head Teacher and the Governing Body.
It is our policy that all children wear school uniform when attending school and educational visits or when participating in a school event outside normal school hours (unless specific guidance has been given to wear alternative clothing).
Jewellery
Children are allowed to wear plain studs in their ears which have to be removed for P.E. and games lessons. The children have to be able to do this themselves. Necklaces, rings and other body piercing are not allowed.
Make Up and Nails
No make up, false, extended nails or nail varnish should be worn on fingers or toes.
School Meals
School dinners are cooked and served daily by the catering staff, overseen by Mrs Bradshaw. A variety of meals are on offer, with 4 choices every day.

The menus are on a 3 week rotation. See the menu to the right which shows what is being served in school this week. If your child has any allergies please do not hesitate to inform the office and we will ensure we meet with you and the catering team to design a slightly amended menu and to write an allergy plan.

The school catering company work closely with us to make sure we are serving food the children like to eat whilst being balanced and healthy. The staff from Education Catering Services come to do food tasting with all of the children in the Autumn term, meet with school council to explore pupil views and hold tasting for parents during parents' evenings throughout the year. The food is delicious, just ask the many staff who have school dinners during the week.
Illness and Absence from School
If your child is going to be absent from school due to illness please ring the school number and select the relevant option to leave a message for the office. Not all illnesses will automatically require a child to be away from school if they are feeling otherwise well enough to attend.
Please see the below guides:
Remote Learning
In line with government guidance, here at Anston Hillcrest, we do not view remote education as an equal alternative to attendance in school. We will apply this guidance when the alternative would be that your child would not be receiving education.

Remote learning will be provided at a bespoke level and agreed between school and home. It will be used to enable children to keep on track with their education and stay connected to school and their peers.

More information around our remote learning offer can be found in our Attendance Strategy, located within the Policies and Reports section of our website.
